The historic Saturn-Neptune Conjunction is upon us, led by a powerful Aquarius Solar Eclipse. The deed is done. A new era beckons!

February Astrology 2026
This is it. February is when the wheels truly hit the tarmac.
Saturn enters Aries on the 14th and things begin to crystallise…
The seminal Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries that every astrologer on god’s green earth is presently talking about arrives on February 20th. And it will define a whole new era for humanity.
This is literally the seed of a new kind of consciousness. We are evolving as we speak, our very DNA is transforming, our consciousness software and everything about how we dream up our world into existence is changing.
We cannot even imagine what the world will look like from here on in because the imaginative capacities to do so are being installed as we speak!
This, coupled with a most powerful solar eclipse on February 17th signals a February like no other. This is the starting point of a brand new reality.
Everything is changing. We’re entering uncharted territory.
Being fully present and alert in our lives is no longer a luxury. It is a must. The Big Sleep is over. Time to wake up!
We are already in eclipse season by February 1st at the Leo Full Moon and the stakes are high. On the 14th Saturn enters Aries and on the 17th we have a powerful Aquarius Solar Eclipse - a ring of fire, a portal that leads to a changed world. Then on the 20th Saturn and Neptune conjunct. Thankfully, Mercury goes retrograde shortly after, on the 26th, giving us a minute to regroup... And with a lovely trine between Jupiter and Venus on the 22nd, there are some wonderful moments to look forward to this month!
So let's have a closer look at February 2026...
(For a play-by-play-book, check out February's astro-calendar!)
Saturn Neptune Conjunction in Aries: A New Door Swings Open At The Hinges Of The World!
The biggest news right now is the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at 0 degrees Aries. This is an event we haven't seen in millennia... For while Saturn and Neptune meet every 36 years or so, this conjunction is uniquely placed at 0 degrees Aries. This is the so called "Aries Point", which represents huge collective shifts. It is the first degree of the entire zodiac, the Vernal Equinox point (in the northern hemisphere), start of spring, the moment that new life bursts forth. It is the pure impulse to be, the equivalent of a great big door swinging open at the very hinges of the world to let in brand new life.
We have not had this kind of conjunction for at least 6000 years - and that puts it literally at the very start of civilisation as we know it, back in Mesopotamia!
My computer program spits out 4361 BCE as the previous date Saturn and Neptune met at 0 degrees Aries. We're talking here the 5th millennium BCE, literally the rise of civilisation and the invention of the wheel.
You can understand the enormity of the threshold at which we currently stand!
Time to emerge from the abyss, fresh as a babe. This is a brand new civilisation in the making.
Other interesting dates, when Saturn and Neptune met near that 0 degree Aries include 594 BCE (2 Aries) & 1742 BCE (29 Pisces).
I am no historian. A quick google search suggests that the 1740s BCE marked the beginning of the end of the Babylonian empire - the end of en era (Babylon being finally conquered by the Persians in the 500s BCE). This tallies with the conjunction taking place in the final degree of entire zodiac in 1742 BCE, the degree of total dissolution, yet still conjunct the Aries point of collective change - the end of something that lasted thousands of years.
The 594 BCE date is even more interesting for present purposes.
For it is taking us to the founding of the Ancient Greek civilisation that forms the basis of the modern Western democracies! It takes us to the time of the fabled Solon, ruler of Athens .
Interestingly, this date coincides perfectly with the wiping of debts and the end of debt-slavery.
Solon implemented 'seisachtheia' meaning 'the shaking off of burdens'. His restructuring of society in 594 BCE laid the foundations of the ancient Athenian democracy some decades down the line, the ideals of which survived all the way to the present day!
This is how powerful that early Aries degree is! Even when not exact, this is the vicinity of powerful global shifts. And no other Saturn-Neptune conjunction has fallen anywhere near it for the past 6000 years.
The only exact conjunction in the sign of Aries is 6000 years ago. That's the time of Mesopotamia. We don't know much of what was going on before Mesopotamia. Whatever it was, that conjunction wiped the slate clean and history began afresh... And here we are again in 2026! Big Stuff!
We are at the threshold of brand new things we can barely understand and which will define life for centuries, millennia - far ahead of our lifetimes!
All we can hope for is that we are equal to the task.

The Saturn-Neptune Cycle in the Aries Seed: Calling Forth All Superheroes!
Beyond the enormity of the 2026 conjunction (due to its placement at 0 Aries), Saturn and Neptune meet quite regularly, every 36 years, in a different zodiac sign each time. What does the regularity of their cycle represent?
The Saturn-Neptune cycle is what weaves spirit into matter. It defines the intangible ideals upon which we periodically re-build our world.
Neptune brings the etheric substance that magnetises Saturnian matter into form, the visions around which matter coalesces, the romantic ideals that periodically inform new civilising structures.
At each conjunction we have a new Zeitgeist incarnating through humanity’s collective reality.
So what is Aries all about?
If Pisces is the long sleep, Aries is the wake up call. This is the era of Individuation. This is Pure Will awakening within mankind.
We are entering a time when the past is wiped clean for a fresh start. This is rebirth on a global scale, the mother of all fresh starts.
Can we learn anything from the previous Saturn-Neptune conjunctions?
Saturn-Neptune in Capricorn 1989
The previous Saturn-Neptune conjunction was in Capricorn in 1989.
Dates: 3 Mar 1989, 24 Jun 1989, 13 Nov 1989
And in true Capricorn fashion, the ideological aspirations that informed the past nearly four decades (and which were very fresh back then but have now gone horribly stale!) are what gave rise to the current hyper-corporate, over-financialised, global top-down hierarchical world that we presently live in. A Capricorn vision through and through - think of the ideals represented by the tarot card of the Devil taken to the nth degree!
To build a new vision, each Saturn-Neptune conjunction first needs to demolish what stands in the way. The stale old stuff.
So what did the Neptune-Saturn conjunction dissolve in Capricorn in the late 80s? In true Capricorn fashion, it brought us the fall of the Berlin Wall. For what does Capricorn represent if not literal brick walls? Neptune and Saturn came and dissolved it.
It also brought us the end of the Cold War Era and the Easter Bloc. Of course, Capricorn also represents goliath bloated government structures. So down those went.
But there is another dimension to this event. And it has to do with what was built in the previous Saturn-Neptune cycle, which this new Capricorn seed brought down. For the Cold War also represented polarisation. A power-balance between two equal poles. And this was a remnant of the previous Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Libra, which took place in 1952-53.
And so the ideologies that were planted with the conjunction of Saturn-Neptune in Libra in the early 1950s were now stale and old when the new Saturn-Neptune conjunction came around. They had to go. And thus they got demolished with the new conjunction in 1989.
Similarly, the Aries conjunction of February 2026 will bring down the world structures that incarnated the ideologies of the late 1980s.
What about before that?
Saturn-Neptune in Libra 1952-53
Going back further, we had a Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Libra in the 1952-53.
Dates: 21 Nov 1952, 17 May 1953, 22 Jul 1953
As noted, this created the polarised Cold War Era. On the back of two destructive World Wars, peace was also a key consideration, and so we saw the beginning of international diplomacy and trade agreements.
But Libra, with its ruler, Venus, also rules culture, ease and pleasurable pursuits. And so the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Libra also brought us incredible flourishing in art and culture and the whole post-war era of commodification, (the pursuit of all mod-cons) advertising and easier living, as well as a new era of glamorous film stars, celebrities and beauty-models.
In true Libra fashion, the 1952-53 also placed relationships and gender roles in the spotlight. On the one hand we had the ideal of the perfect housewife of the 50s, on the other we saw the clear dissolution of the old models of relationships and marriage from that point on, as well as a social zeitgeist rising that represented equality between the sexes. The 1952-53 conjunction in Libra even coincided with the ascension of a female monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, to the British throne!
At the same time, as before, we saw the end of the old ideals that governed the world, which were seeded with the previous Saturn-Neptune conjunction in the 1910s in Leo. In the post-WW II era, we see the gradual dissolution of the British Empire and the transition into the Commonwealth. Not royal rule from above but some sort of equal partnership based on mutual benefit. Which brings us to...
Saturn-Neptune in Leo 1917
The very first Saturn-Neptune conjunction of the 20th century was in Leo in 2017.
Date: it only hit exactitude once on August 1st 2017.
These are times of powerful leadership and ambitious dreams (WWII). But it is also a time that romanticised royalty and privilege, seeing the creation of the House of Windsor even as the British Empire reached its maximum territory.
We also saw the rise of Hollywood and iconic Hollywood stars like Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Cary Grant and Clark Gable. This was also the era of the roaring 20s and the flapper, the very symbol of dramatic fun (and even of going down in style), a key Leo icon.
At the same time, this is the cycle that saw the end of the landed gentry, the end of nobility (Leo) - the demolition of a whole way of life. Indeed, in true Saturn-Neptune dissolving fashion in the sign of royalty, we saw the Russian revolution, the end of the Ottoman empire, and the destruction of most European monarchies!
Repeatedly we see a combination of idealisation and dissolution of the symbols represented by the sign the Saturn-Neptune conjunction is taking place in - wrecking destruction on already established versions of the very thing being idolised and replacing the old Zeitgeist with a new one.
So what's next?
Saturn-Neptune in Aries 2026: A Time of Heroes!
So what about the upcoming Aries ideals? What will be aspire to? What could we see go?
Aries is the quintessential self made man or woman. Aries is the brave warrior and pioneer, the fiercely independent individualist.
We could well see the fearless rise of the individualist, the warrior, the pioneer - even amidst the erosion of old notions of personal identity and freedom. Remember:
Nothing is more important to Aries than personal agency and sovereignty!
It is the meaning of what it is to have those things that is about to be radically altered. Expect radical new symbols taking hold to represent true independence, innovation and pioneering progress, as well as what it means to be an individual in one's own right, enjoying personal freedom, agency and sovereignty.
What about the flip-side? What might we see collapse during this period?
Aries is ruled by Mars, ruling war, aggression, weapons…
Dare we say that we will see the dissolution of the old machinery of war?
The demolition of Nato? The end of the institutionalised, industrialised military industrial complex?
Power is switching hands as wer speak. Old martial ideals are currently being demolished to make way for new ones. New empires will rise and old ones will diminish.
A new style of warrior is about to arise. This is the rise of the spiritual warrior to raise mankind to its next stage of development.
A new age of heroes is upon us!
Heroes out there and the hero within. For, Aries puts us in charge of our own fate. It asks of us: What is truly worth fighting for?
In true Aries fashion, it is time for each and every one of us to step up and make this world a place we truly want to live in.
The Last Aries Conjunction: 1703
It is worth noting that the last Aries conjunction took place in March 1703 (at 11 degrees Aries).
This saw the formation of Great Britain (in 1707), a rising new empire!
What does this mean for Britain today?
The early 18th century also saw rationalism and the enlightenment starting to take hold, with its questioning of old authorities and methods, as well as early technological developments and key inventions (e.g. the first practical steam engine that formed the foundation of the industrial revolution).
In other words, in the early 1700s, we have the start of the modern era.
Exciting times ahead!
Saturn-Neptune: Russia in the Spotlight
It's also worth nothing that the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in the 20th century has coincided with huge leadership changes in Russia.
We had the Bolshevik revolution in 1917. We had Stalin’s death and Putin’s birth in 1952-53. We had the fall of the USSR in 1989.
Even the last Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries in 1703 connects with Russian history with the founding of St Petersburg the old capital of Russia.
What’s coming down the pipeline? A change of leadership in Russia? Or something more politically complex? BRICs nations on the ascendancy? Or something else? Watch this space!
Russian China and the West...
Just as the Saturn-Neptune cycle is associated with Russia, we have other cycles associated with other parts of the world (all based on the pioneering work of astrologer André Barbault).
China is said to be associated to the Saturn-Pluto cycle that had became precise in January 2020(!), a year that certainly brought China into the spotlight and started a new era for that part of the world.
As for the West, it is associated with the Saturn-Uranus cycle.
Where are we at in this cosmic dance?
China had its moment of renewal and Russia is next.
What about the West?
The West is not 'due for renewal' for another six years or so, in 2032.
For that’s when Saturn and Uranus meet in Gemini. That’s when the West will finally pull its finger out...
It's six years away. The West is not leading the parade right now.
And yet the Aries conjunction, bang on the Vernal Equinox, is a new beginning for us all, beyond all politics, beyond East and West.
Exciting times! Watch this space....
February 20th and Spring 2026:
Saturn and Neptune conjunct exactly just once, at 00:45 degrees Aries on February 20th 2026 at 16:54 UT/GMT.
Watch for the Moon going over this point on the 19th, putting a powerful spotlight on this imminent event.
Next up, Venus and the Sun arrive in late March and Mars and Mercury in April delivering the first messages of the conjunction’s fresh shoots this spring!
Whether world events crystallise around this seminal astrological moment of February 20th right this red hot minute or not, we are living at a historic moment, the importance of which, as the seed of a brand new human civilisation, will be a historical landmark for generations to come - perhaps for millennia!
As for now? We know nothing. It's too early to tell.
February 20th is the moment the Fool steps over the precipice...
How great to be here now!
The Rest of February 2026 Astrology
So what surrounds this seminal Saturn-Neptune conjunction? What are the key astrological events of February 2026?

Leo Full Moon February 1st: The Heart Never Lies
Prior to the eclipse, this month’s beautiful Full Moon arrives on February 1st at 22:06 UT/GMT at 13:03 degrees of Leo, appearing large and beautiful in the star-studded winter sky.
This Leo Moon pits the individual against the collective.
For it is opposite a formidable collection of planets (a ‘stellium’) surrounding the Sun in Aquarius, featuring Pluto, Mars, Mercury and Venus.
Leo full moons, always arriving in the dead of winter in the northern hemisphere, are here to remind us all of our specialness; to align us with what brings us joy.
Whatever is going on in the collective sphere, whatever pressures you are currently under, remember: you are a star upon this earth
You are a sovereign being here to be fiercely yourself and experience pure joy.
And this Full Moon is here to reconnect you with your heart - the organ that Leo rules in the body.
Keep that eternal flame burning.
And take heart. For we are moving into a year that’s sure to make history.
Uranus Station Direct February 4th: The Final Stretch!
Uranus also stations direct this month, right on the heels of this month’s Leo Full Moon, on January 4th.
Expect to be sitting on tenterhooks on the 4th, with maximum excitement if things are moving along - or maximum impatience and irritability if they are not.
With Uranus being the ruler of the upcoming solar eclipse in Aquarius, this places extra emphasis on the notion of powerful breakthrough and change this month...
This is emphasised as each fast-moving planet squares Uranus - getting an electrified and fully charged - as they make their way from futuristic Aquarius to dreamy Pisces.
Mercury squares Uranus on the 5th, bringing an unexpected communications breakthrough; Venus arrives on the 7th bringing sudden relationship breaks or unexpected financial turns. Finally the Sun and Mars arrive last, bring maximum disruption and commotion on the 16th and 17th of February.
What excitement!
Saturn enters Aries February 14th: Calling All Superheroes!
The first big news arrives mid-February. Saturn enters Aries on February 14th to stay until 13 April 2028.
(This also happens to be Valentine Day, a rather frivolous holiday. But Saturn is the anti-valentine. And this is his day. Save yourself for the 22nd instead when Venus and Jupiter trine!)
Without belabouring the point, it’s time to find out what we’re made of. This is no time for wimps!
Saturn in Aries is a time to steel the will and act with courage.
Whenever you see someone born with Saturn in Aries, you can see that hard-edged quality about them; not to be messed with; like a hardened rock star that’s survived against the odds, a rink-fighter with the scares to prove it, a superhero with the cape at the ready. These indomitable souls are made of some stern stuff!
Time for us all to strengthen the warrior-spirit within and to put paid to pity-parties, complain-campaigns, or any kind of victim thinking.
Saturn in Aries will dispel the Piscean fog and make things crystal clear. Strength is the name of the day.
Saturn in Aries, together with the Solar Eclipse on the 17th together pave the way to the incredible Saturn-Neptune conjunction of 2026!
Aquarius Solar Eclipse 17th February: Metamorphosis!
And so we arrive, on February 17th, at12:01 UT / GMT, at the annular solar eclipse in Aquarius at 28:49 degrees.
Annular eclipses (where the Moon appears smaller than the sun due to its greater distance from the earth) create a ring of fire - a transformative portal for humanity’s metamorphosis into something new.
And this is literally the keyword for this powerful solar eclipse at the 29th Aquarius degree: METAMORPHOSIS.
The Sabian Symbol for contemplation at this solar eclipses is “a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis”.
Incubation is complete. This is the moment of no return.
This is a North Node eclipse, meaning it hungers for new experience. It is a portal pulling us powerfully toward the future.
What’s more, this powerful solar eclipse squares Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius and the planet of surprise, sudden shocks, and the unexpected. The chrysalis is literally being ruptured open.
Something powerful is breaking through right now, a new world is emerging.
Chiron and Eris Sail Close: Rage Leak...
Chiron and Eris in Aries, two important asteroid/planetoid bodies, are approaching perfect conjunction next month, on March 19th. But right now, as they sail close together, they converse with all the little planets....
Chiron and Eris contain all the rage and hurt in the world that is disowned and exiled, all the feelings of cruel unfairness and disenfranchisation that have nowhere left to go but out.
They are worth keeping an eye on as they have one singular goal in mind this year: to expose ugliness, get some justice and restore wholeness to the system.
So here we have a seething angry energy bubbling away underneath it all, ready to erupt at the slightest provocation....
All planets touch base with those guys as they pass through Aquarius this month, so take a minute to notice what thoughts and feelings arise within!
Mercury sextiles those guys on the 2nd-3rd - watch your words! Venus arrives on the 4th-6th with any luck allowing you to build bridges. The Sun then comes along on the 12th-13th for some conscious decision making. And finally Mars sextiles Chiron and Eris on the 22nd-24th for a chance to take matters into your own hands... Watch these dates.
Pisces Season February 18th: Tune In!
Pisces season arrives on February 18th this month, when the Sun enters Pisces - happy birthday you mysterious lot!
This is your first birthday in years, dear Pisces, without the heavy influences of Saturn and Neptune to weigh you down.
It truly is a new and lighter start!
This is true for all Pisces and wherever you have Pisces in your chart!
Every fast moving body makes its way into Pisces ahead of the Sun to pave the way - already electrified (thanks to Uranus) and ready to plug and play! Mercury enters Pisces on the 6th, Venus on the 10th and Mars on the 17th, before the Sun finally makes its grand entrance on February 18th.
Pisces season is a time to dream up the future.
And with such a collection of bodies to help us there, it’s time to engage our every faculty! Get dreaming!
This is just in time for the seminal Saturn-Neptune Conjunction in Aries on February 20th!
Jupiter trines Mercury and Venus February 16th-22nd: Live It Up!
With such a heavy month in the making, it’s worth noting some wonderful times ahead!
Mark February 16th and 22nd in your calendars for these are lucky days when Mercury and Venus harmonise with Jupiter in turn!
Mercury and Venus even conjunct the North Lunar Node before they trine Jupiter - Mercury on the 12th and Venus on the 17th, bringing a lucky, sociable uplifting energy to the mix.
Mercury’s trine to Jupiter arrives on the 16th - a wonderful time to connect, communicate, trade or sign paperwork.
Mercury will soon go retrograde, so it’s important to get things done as early as possible this month and the 16th is a happy date.
As for the 22nd, it is a golden day!
No less because both Venus and Jupiter are in their sign of exaltation as they trine each other from mid-Pisces to mid-Cancer.
For water signs especially (and, to some extent, earth signs), this is a wonderful pool of luck!
Never mind Valentine’s Day... Plan something special on the 22nd - a day of love, luxury and pleasure!
Mercury Retrograde in Pisces February 26th: Upgrade Your Imagination!
The month ends with Mercury stationing retrograde in Pisces on February 26th to stay so until March 20th.
This is a total recalibration of our imaginative faculties.
Mercury will backtrack from 22 to 8 degrees Pisces during this period, giving us a moment to regroup and gather our thoughts for the big push ahead in Spring, when this new imaginative software that’s currently being downloaded fully kicks into gear.
Don’t bother trying to make logical sense of things with Mercury retrograde in Pisces.
Follow your intuition, do a visualisation or a divination and re-fine-tune your spiritual and imaginative antennae.
It is only natural that Mercury needs to take some downtime in this major process of recalibration that is February to allow us to come back stronger. This is what will allow us to move into the new astrological year in spring all guns blazing.
So dim the lights and let the movie play, testing this or that outcome. Soon, all will be ready.
Mercury enters his retrograde shadow already by February 11th, when it’s time to begin wrapping things up to shut down the system for maintenance.
Mercury will stay on the down-low all the way until the 9th of April - a good long while. February 11th to April 9th is two month period when the same thoughts will be occupying our minds.
This is a time of preparation and a mental reboot to deal with all the upcoming changing goalposts of 2026.
