November 2025 Astrology: Release the Dam!

A powerful Scorpio New Moon conjunct Mercury Retrograde brings change. Let the waters rush in and clear away debris!

November 2025 Astrology Sky Watch...

The dam is burst. There is a high concentration of planets in water signs, opening the sluices and releasing all sorts of pent up energy into the stream. 

Time to let the waters rush in to clear debris, remove stuck energy, and clean out the pipes for fresh stuff in the works.

Secrets are out, obstacles are washed away, and the energy flows once more. All is well, in other words - even if we are in a bit of a shock or feel like we can barely keep up!   Let's look at what the November 2025 astrology looks like.

Taurus Full Moon, November 5th: Hold Your Ground

November starts with an impressive Taurus Full Moon on November 5th at 13:19GMT at the 14th degree of Taurus.

Venus, the ruler of this Full Moon, is strong in Libra and in a powerful grand cross configuration with Jupiter, Pluto, Chiron and Eris.

Venus represents our affections, values and preferences.

This is an intense moment of vulnerability and a gigantic energy investment (emotional / financial) measured against a sense of authenticity.

A revisiting of the past, and of disowned parts of ourselves is also in order.

Neptune makes for some refined sentiments and a mystic rectangle adds import to the whole experience.

A moment of reclaiming something important, and for truth and healing.

Uranus back in Taurus November 8th: Accept Change

To add to the intensity of that first November week, on November 8th Uranus jumps back into Taurus to kick away from under our feet that last piece of rubble we may have been standing on. 

Ever since he first entered Taurus in 2018-19, Uranus has been destabilising everything we took for granted or thought was on rock-solid ground ever since the 1940s. Whether that was money, food, energy, our bodies, our land, or the values and principles by which we live our lives and which form the foundation of society as a whole. 

Uranus back in Taurus until 26th April 2026 will now shake loose what’s left of all those old foundations. Shift your bearings! The goalposts are moving fast. 

Mercury Retrograde November 9th - 29th

By the 9th, Mercury stations retrograde in Sagittarius (at 7 degrees): time to hit pause, have a re-think, retrace our steps.

What's the bigger picture here?

Mercury has been sailing close to Mars since early October, revving the engines and leaving behind some serious scorch-marks. Things have been hectic, fast, loud, aggravating... Nothing’s better for clearing the air than this combo. Rip off that bandaid!

That entire first week of November is a doozy, making for some intense moments.

By the 13th, the hair-trigger energy hit the reds as Mercury and Mars meet in an exact conjunction once more (the last one was October 20th and the final one will be January 18th).

Mercury will stay retrograde until November 29th to help us reposition ourselves on the chessboard ready for the future. 

Jupiter retrograde, November 11th - March 11th

On November 11th Jupiter stations retrograde in Cancer (square Chiron and Eris) - an effulgent, generous, authentic moment. 

Jupiter's station releases yet more energy into the stream, opening up new potentials and allowing greater perspective to slowly emerge.

Time to revisit our vision for the future, and clear space inside for the changes that are coming on the outside. 

Sun trine Jupiter-Saturn, November 17th

November 17th is when the Sun in Scorpio perfectly trines Jupiter and Saturn.

This rare and beautiful alignment is an excellent moment of luck and serendipity, solidifying longevity and endeavours that build positive structures for the future.

Mark it in your calendar and note down what stands out for you on that day and the run up to it. For it's good for you, and it's here to stay!

Mercury Retrograde backs into Scorpio, November 19th

Mercury retrograde backtracks into Scorpio on the 19th and the time for visualising and picturing things is done.

We must now dive deep into the recesses of our brain to process change, draw the mental strength required to do the work or get to the truth of the matter, review our finances or have that frank conversation.

Scorpio New Moon / 'New Mercury', November 20th 

On November 20th, and with Mercury in place, it's time for a really special Scorpio New Moon.

This Scorpio new Moon is like a laser-beam. It hits its target with incredible precision. 

And that's thanks to a rare planetary alignment: the Sun and Moon meet up at 06:47am at the 29th Scorpio degree, opposing Uranus, sextile Pluto, trine Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune, and conjunct Mercury retrograde.  Talk about hitting bull’s eye! 

In effect, we have a Scorpio New Moon and “New Mercury” rolled into one!  

What's a "New Mercury"? While we have a New Moon each month, we have (what I like to call) a "New Mercury" three times a year. That's when Mercury passes between the earth and the sun in the heavens, i.e. conjuncts the Sun while in apparent retrograde motion, in what is called its "inferior" conjunction. Mercury is our processor and this is effectively a mini brain-reboot.

A powerful idea is now born.

This is a powerful seed-moment. Time to plant some radical new seeds.

But it is still early days... These seeds are planted in the dark. We need to let the Moon, and Mercury too, grow in light over the next couple of weeks before we know what we're really thinking or how we feel about it. Look to December & January for further illumination.

This Scorpio New Moon is all about change. It is a radical new beginning, a clean break with the past.

Something has clearly snapped, a quantum leap has occurred and we’re in unfamiliar territory. For this New Moon / New Mercury opposes Uranus, the planet of progress, quantum leaps, sudden change and revolution.

The Sun-Uranus opposition is exact on the 21st for maximum breakaway velocity.

This is the last Scorpio New Moon opposite Uranus in our lifetime.

Our fixed reference points are radically changing and this may be destabilising. But we're uncovering fresh ground to build upon.

And November turns all the lights green. The time is now. Time to make the break and see what happens.

Uranus Sextile Neptune, November 20th

Also on the 20th, we have Uranus and Neptune, the two most inspirational planets in the bunch, perfecting their sextile, an aspect of creative harmony.  

Inspiration now abounds.  

This is a rare aspect that will be with us until 2027. We haven't had anything like it since the late 1960s and won't see again until 2137.

But while it's ongoing, this November 2025 set up is utterly unique. For it happens in the final and critical degrees of Taurus and Pisces, the quintessential signs of body and spirit. Taurus teaches us to be fully present in the here and now and engage all our senses. While Pisces teaches us to let it all go when the time comes for absolute dissolution and return to the divine. What a combo!

There is a rush and an urgency to the opportunity for integration now presented between body and soul.

This is a refined, progressive time. Everything is coming together to liberate our body and elevate our spirit. 

Sagittarius Season, November 22nd - December 21st

The Sun enters Sagittarius on November 22nd - happy birthday Sagittarius!

Time to take stock, raise our eyes to the horizon and seek new vistas to explore.

Mercury retrograde trines Jupiter and Saturn on the 22nd-23rd, making sure we’re using all our marbles and can combine vision with practical thinking. 

Watch out for Mars in Sagittarius square the Lunar Nodes on the 24th, a day that riles up our warrior spirit and packs a punch.

Things are looking up for abundance, romance, and all things that tickle our fancy by the 25th-26th.

Lovely Venus conjuncts Mercury, then trines both Jupiter and Saturn - a perfect combo for culture, diplomacy and lovely conversations - as well as beneficial relationships and agreements that are here to stay.   Could November hold some lovely surprises yet?

Saturn & Mercury Direct, November 28th-29th

The month ends just as strong as it began. On the 28th Saturn turns direct, and on the 29th Mercury turns direct packing a double punch.

These could well be days of important news and developments.

Don’t jump the gun, as Mercury will take some time to fully straighten his course. Watch and listen closely and see where the chips land.  It won't be until mid-December before our mind is released from whatever had it in its grip since October 20th, when Mercury entered his retrograde shadow. 

With Saturn also moving forward from this point on, it's time to clear the decks.

The era of Saturn in Pisces is now slowly coming to an end.

The sluices have been opened, the dam has been released, and Saturn in Pisces until mid-February 2026 will make sure that we find all kinds of treasure in the rushing waters.

Just as well. For we are heading into totally unfamiliar territory, a brand new world seeded by the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries in February 2026 e.v..

21 November:  Sun opposes Uranus, trines Neptune - Change and Inspiration

22 November: Sun enters Sagittarius, Mercury trines Saturn - Make plans, commit verbally, come up with a strategy.

23 November: Mercury trines Jupiter, Sun sextiles Pluto - Positive and uplifting thoughts, news and meetings, powerful initiatives.

24 November: Mars squares the Nodes - Aggressive initiatives.

25 November: Mercury conjunct Venus - Graceful words, news, meetings, communications. Culture.

28 November: Saturn direct - Reality check. Time to clear the decks for a new beginning.

30 November: Venus opposite Uranus, trine Neptune, enters Sagittarius, Mars “apogee” (furthest away from the earth, Mars is very fast) - Relationships and finances are in for shocks and revelations, sudden romance, sudden break-ups or changes in fortune,  love takes on a more adventurous hue, refined sentiment, things develop fast.
