April Astrology: Gone With The Wind...

Yes, there is no end to wind similes when it comes to April...the winds of change; the way the wind blows; gone with the wind, wuthering heights...etc - our culture is full of them. And this is where we are at. Uranus brings change and Gemini is an air sign after all... Like seeds blown in the wind, let the winds of change carry us all to places new and as yet undiscovered

April is a landmark month when the shifting foundations established in February begin to receive fresh seeds, eager to sprout.

Uranus enters Gemini April 25th-26th where he will stay until 2032. We are now in brand new territory. The goalposts are moving so fast the world is a blur! The old rules no longer apply. Nerves are jangled as we don't yet know whether we are coming or going or where things that are currently all up in the air will actually land in the end. Well, they may not land at all - or not for long. The upshot is this:

Time to let the past go; time open doors and windows and let this fresh breeze sweep through, well, everything.

With an Aries New Moon conjunct Chiron and Eris on the 17th, and with Mars and Mercury crossing over the historic Saturn-Neptune conjunction in the early degrees of Aries April 17th-21st, there is a whole new set of parameters being laid down this month. It's time to face uncomfortable truths and make serious decisions for a return to authenticity. A commitment is now needed.

Fast and furious, lighter, fresher and forward-looking - these are the traits now needed if we are to move forward...

Libra Full Moon April 2nd: Adjust and Regroup

April began with a somewhat sobering Libra Full Moon at 3:11 BST at 13° Libra widely opposite Saturn in Aries and closely square Jupiter.

And so right off the bat, April asks us to evaluate what’s most important moving forward so we can adjust our path.

This is a rather emotionally loaded Full Moon. Venus squares Pluto, reminding us of our love-scars and making for some intense bonding. Mercury trines Jupiter too and this helps lift our minds to the horizon and derive meaning from events. The whole thing culminates on Monday the 6th brings with a wonderful harmony between Venus and the Lunar Nodes - a moment of diplomacy and bridge building. This is ultimately a Libra Moon and building bridges is key.

Venus in Taurus / Mars in Aries: Healthy Energy Levels!

With Venus strong in its domicile in Taurus all the way until April 24th (since March 30th),

April brings some peaceful and reassuring moments of beauty, comfort and pleasure in an otherwise intense month - especially after the 4th.

By April 9th, Mars also enters Aries, its home, and we're firing on all cylinders. The 7th-9th can be rather destabilising, however, as Mars sextiles Uranus from the very dregs of the zodiac (the critical Pisces degree), bringing surprises and economic havoc. Finally, on the 9th Mars crosses the world axis into Aries the and we are in a whole new ballgame!

The 7th-9th, as Mars makes his transition from Pisces to Aries, bring surprising developments and call for fast decision making.

Mars will stay in Aries until May 18th where he is strong, simple and straight down the line - the quintessential action hero: if it’s decisive action you want now is the time!

April 8th-9th kick-starts a two week period - all the way past the Aries New Moon and into April 21st - when Mars and Mercury activate every major planet in the sky. This will be a game changer with lasting effects.

April 8th-21st sees all the chess pieces strategically moved around the board, revealing a brand new playing field that's here to stay. 

By April 10th, a last quarter Capricorn Moon brings a shift in perspective when it comes to our world's structures and hierarchies. Time to start making sense of the past three weeks, since the March 19th New Moon, as we prepare for April's New Moon on April 17th.

The Aries New Moon of April 17th: Face Raw Truths

The April 17th Aries New Moon arrives at 12:51 BST at 28° Aries.

This is a brave fresh start with eyes wide open. Its aim? To get us to face what we have been avoiding, tackle uncomfortable truths and make some serious decisions.

Acceptance is key. Our overall strategy now calls for corrective action.

The energy begins to build up from the 15th-16th, hitting a raw nerve as the Sun arrives to conjoin Eris and Chiron. Time to tackle a touchy subject. No more lies. No more avoiding unpleasant truths. The time has come to face anything we avoid like the plague and reintegrate these disowned elements that have been left out in the cold for far too long back into a more wholesome plan for moving forward.

This Aries New Moon is a return to truth; to wholeness; to greater authenticity.

Mars, Mercury, Saturn and Neptune Conjunct 17th-21st April: Walk Your Talk!

The Aries New Moon doesn't happen in isolation. The entire week of April 13-19 is is a week that brings much wisdom.

That's because the planetary harmonies that signify a mini renaissance for humanity by 2027-28 are currently spearheaded by Mars and Mercury as they conjunct Neptune and Saturn, and sextile Pluto. This lights a long-burning fuse that will eventually reshape our world. 

Timeline:

On the 13th Mars conjuncts Neptune and Venus sextiles Jupiter - a lovely day by all accounts! Then, on the 14th-15th Mercury sextiles Uranus and enters Aries blowing away the cobwebs of our minds for some more bubbly and energising mental stimulation. Then, the 16th brings powerful and transformative action as Mars sextiles Pluto. 

Mercury conjoins Neptune and sextiles Pluto on the 17th-18th, intensifying a spiritual yearning for a deeper understanding of events. Here we have inspiration and the courage to look beneath the surface.

Finally, Mars and Mercury conjunct Saturn and each other on the 19th-21st for a major reality check.

Time to take responsibility for what has so far failed to deliver in our lives and take some serious corrective action.

Discipline and courage are required to tackle challenges now. This is a long game of strategy and it calls for some serious planning.

The week following the April New Moon begins on a sobering note. Mars, Mercury and Saturn are on top of each other narrowing our options and loading our decisions with the weight of permanence.

With Mercury being the last to conjoin Saturn on the 21st, this is a reality check.

Time to commit in thought, word, and deed. 

This is the Aries New Moon slowly taking concrete shape.

Taurus season begins in the midst of all that on Monday, April 20th 01:39 UT / GMT. Happy Birthday Taurus!

This moment subtly switches our focus from questions of initiative and action to matters pertaining to resources, value and overall quality of life.

When any planet enters Taurus, a meeting with Pluto is never far off. By the 25th, as the Sun squares Pluto, figuring out how to sustain all of those things and have a life worth living becomes a pressing question.  But everything is about to change yet again...

Venus and Uranus Enter Gemini April 24th-26th: An Explosion of Options!

And now we arrive at April’s biggest news - Uranus enters Gemini on the 26th not to return back into Taurus for another eighty years or so. And now we truly find ourselves in a new era!  The radical changes that kicked off the 2020s are now in full swing, aiming to implement their full agenda by 2032. 

At the same time we have Venus, ruler of Taurus, performs an impressive summersault to make Uranus’ seminal change of sign as pleasant as possible. 

On the 24th Venus conjuncts Uranus in Taurus then enters Gemini, paving the way for Uranus’ imminent arrival into Gemini on April 26th.

The 24th-26th is thus a super-exciting and yet also highly unstable time. Expect randomness, surprises, and sudden jumps in markets, romance, diplomacy, and relationships of all kinds. It’s all down to the wire.

Change is the only certainty now. Affections and markets could turn on a dime, and things could come down to a choice of words.

The weekend 24th-26th is super fun and things can really go wild with Venus and Uranus playing hide and seek like this. By the 26th, Venus sextiles Neptune ringing in a note of beauty and romance. Mercury squares Jupiter too using big words to convey big ideas. Rein in those horses…

Just in time for Uranus to enter Gemini on the 26th - get ready to fly by the seat of your pants for the foreseeable!

Uranus in Gemini 2026-2032: Phantasmagoria!

On April 26th at 00:51 UT/GMT, Uranus moves into Gemini to stay there until 22 May 2033 (with a brief exit stint 3 August - 12 December 2032 for a taster into the 2030s decade when Uranus will be in Cancer)

With Uranus in Gemini now for the foreseeable, a fast paced time is upon us!

We’re now moving full speed ahead into a brand new world.  2026-2032 is going to be a stimulating period with great innovation, lightning fast developments, and quantum leaps in technology.  This is especially so when it comes to mind, travel and communications - all the networks that create greater connectivity.  Brain chips? Flying cars? Space buses? Teleportation? Who knows. AI is already here as are many of the above things in nascent form. All we do know is that our world is about to be revolutionised - especially when it comes to all things Mercurial in nature (Mercury being the ruler of Gemini and the flying messenger of the gods who could freely travel everywhere, including the underworld, and get back in one piece).  This period will be like quicksilver - hard to pin down.. And with Pluto in Aquarius at the same time, the changes will be radical.

Uranus in Gemini is like a wind-storm, or a swarm of fireflies… Exciting, tantalising but also maddening, distracting, mind flying in all directions, testing out ideas. Hold onto your nervous system!

With all major planets now in air and fire signs for the foreseeable, the air will crackle and buzz and sparks will be flying everywhere. This is an exciting, experimental time.

The challenge is to remain fresh and inquisitive, while avoiding nervous burnout.

Also it's important to not lose our minds…or hand them over to technology in a (quick)silver platter.

What's the true meaning of being a free thinker? And is it even possible? It is imperative to discover this now.

Ultimately, everything we think we know is about to be turned on its head. So expect the unexpected for a technological and mental rollercoaster ride.

The last time Uranus was in Gemini was in the 40s (1941/42-1948-49) when we had incredible advances in aviation, radar, and computer technologies - all fuelled by WWII, as well as the cracking of the U-boat Enigma codes that turned the tide of the war and, well, let's not forget the A-bomb! These technological advances led to the development of the modern way of life in the 20th century, largely based on lots of new consumer goods based on these recent technological advances, like TVs and microwaves. And here we are, again, today. What is to come?

We also know that by 2032 (June 28th), taskmaster Saturn conjoins Uranus in Gemini.

By 2032 the experimental advances of the late 20s will form the foundation of new technological infrastructure to underpin our societies.

The Uranus-Saturn conjunction will also signal a (much needed) rebirth for the West. Right now we are in the devolution phase of the Saturn-Uranus cycle - we had the closing Saturn-Uranus square in 2021, which when the West truly began to go into decline. But with Uranus in Gemini the countdown for rebirth begins. And it all begins this month. Buckle up!

May...Day Scorpio Full Moon: Crisis and Transformation

Only a few April days now remain as we head to an intense Scorpio Full Moon on May Day, i.e. May 1st at 17:23 UT / GMT at 12° Scorpio. On Monday April 27th the Sun already harmonises with the Lunar Nodes, just as Venus trines Pluto, paving the way for this transformative Ful Moon.

This is an opportunity to realign with our true north while bonding more deeply and investing more fully into what matters most. 

This Scorpio Full Moon is the culmination of the latter half of April and also of the past six months - ever since that transformational Scorpio New Moon of November 20th 2025.  Time for a recce of the past six month period. What has changed? What more needs to change?

Scorpio is also the sign of wealth and power. And this is a moment of transformative alliances and a powerful merging of interests.

On Thursday April 30th Venus squares the Lunar Nodes signalling a crucial relationship and finance crossroads. It's imperative now to get unstuck from the past and commit to people, values and resources that take us forward. Mercury conjunct Eris and Chiron on April 30th-May 1st brings just the dose of honesty and raw self-reflection needed to make an authentic choice.

Some say that Uranus is exalted in Scorpio, signifying the ultimate transformative power of radical change. If so, how fitting that the first Full Moon with Uranus in new territory is a Scorpio one. This presses upon us the revolutionary energy of the times and the necessity for a total rebirth.
