June has Big Raw Energy! Jupiter enters Leo and Chiron Taurus, exposing deep wounds... Mercury retrograde plus a Gemini New Moon and Capricorn Full Moon complete the picture.

The Astrology of June
June is feisty, raw and unpredictable.
It’s a highly emotional month when things reach breaking point - whether it's breakdown or breakthrough. We have radical shifts, quantum leaps and BIG RAW energy, with the potential for some deep emotional healing.
When everything out there is topsy turvy it’s time to tune inwards, into our inner knowing to steer the ship, whilst also clearing house and making room for the unexpected.
Here is the June Astrology forecast...
For a play-by play of June's events, jump to the June 2026 Astro Calendar.
Venus conjunct Jupiter square Chiron June 9th-13th: Big Healing Vibe
June enters with a big emotional high building. And by June 9th, Venus, love goddess meets the boundless expanse of Jupiter in Cancer, the sign of Jupiter’s exaltation. Jupiter-Venus may stand for ease, pleasure and self indulgence, but the real gifts of Venus-Jupiter in Cancer are internal.
There is an abundance of feeling to this moment, a unique richness to the inner life. Values and principles now align, guided by a felt sense of what truly matters.
Intimacy and protection are now key as we aim to shelter what we deeply care about from outside influences. This is feminine energy blossoming through the power of love, blended with fire and vision for forward motion.
Uranus Squares Lunar Nodes June 12th: Breaking Point
June represents a quantum leap in developments, a major disruption to the status quo. This groundbreaking energy is due to Uranus squaring the Lunar Nodes or eclipse points on June 12th, an aspect already building as June enters.
Whatever the wake up call, it is accelerating change at such a pace that we need to take a huge leap to keep up.
Time to realign our path to truths newly realised; to bridge past and future in a way that blows the space of possibilities wide open for something new to emerge.
Gemini New Moon June 15th: New Possibilities
This month’s New Moon is in Gemini. It arrives on June 15th at the 25th Gemini degree at 02:54 UT. Gemini is all about the open, playful and noncommittal exploration of options and ideas.
Here we have variety. And it’s time to sample it all and experiment to keep up with developments.
Gemini’s terrain is our immediate vicinity - what’s right in front of our very eyes, or easily within arm’s reach. And with this Gemini New Moon we can see things for the first time that we missed before, that have been there all along.
This is a pair of fresh eyes. liberated from the many filters and blinders that usually colour our perception.
This New Moon is an opportunity to experience the world afresh and engage with it directly liberated from prejudices and preconceptions, with the curiosity and innocence of a child.
The Sun and Moon are sextile Chiron and Eris so there is something authentic, raw and eye-opening about this moment. It is an opportunity, clearing space for us to face the world more openly and honestly.
Mercury, the ruler of this Gemini Moon is currently in Cancer, approaching conjunction with Jupiter and Venus.
Mercury in Cancer brings an emotional dimension to this New Moon, linking it to memory, past experience and an understanding that heals and expands.
To liberate the mind, we need to understand the source of out thoughts, the emotional basis of our interactions, and, ultimately, how the way we think is connected to our upbringing and past conditioning.
This New Moon is a beautiful opportunity to become more aware of how familiar thoughts and feelings form a habitual loop - our default program - and even to rewind and rewrite the tape.
This is the first New Moon with Uranus in Gemini since the 1940s. And while there is no conjunction between these right now (look to the November Full Moon for that, as well as the Gemini New Moon of 2027!), the space is open to completely recalibrate the way we understand the nature of mind and of our own potential.
How will this affect each and every one of us? Look to planets and points in Gemini, or in aspect to the New Moon; and look at which house 25 degrees of Gemini occupies in your chart.
Gemini New Moon Sabian Symbol: A store filled with precious oriental rugs.
This speaks to the fun of engaging with the products of a culture and the desire to browse a range of potentially exotic choices. It also emphasises beauty, comfort, commerce, and traditional craftsmanship. A good time to have a good rummage around!
BIG NEWS - Chiron Enters Taurus June 19th: The Wound of I HAVE
By June 19th we arrive at a crucial moment in the month. On the 19th at 22:19 BST Chiron, who has been in Aries since 2018-19, temporarily exits Aries and dips his hoof into Taurus until September 18th, returning to Aries for a stint this autumn, then entering Taurus for good in April 2027 to stay there until October 2033.
And so this summer will give us a taste of the raw themes that will begin to occupy us for the next six years, bringing to the fore wounds around ownership, resources, money and possessions, our body, physicality and sustenance, as well as our values, and self-worth.
A bite-size quote that best summarises Chiron is that famous one by Rumi, to paraphrase: “the wound is where the light comes in.” Chiron represents an early wound that leaves us open and vulnerable with no easy way out. This persistent hurt leads to a personal quest for answers, a road less travelled, seeking alternative and more authentic solutions. And once on that path, we can never again go back to an unthinking acceptance of received dictates, developing instead true authenticity and wisdom from within.
For these past 8-9 years Chiron has been in Aries poking at deep existential wounds. This is the right of each individual to exist as a sovereign being - a godhead - and to be granted the agency and freedom to pursue our divine will without interference.
As the world became increasingly hostile to these foundational human impulses since 2018, it forced us to become more self-aware, awakening our inner warrior and authentic self.
This is going to come in handy in the next six years. For, without a strong sense of identity how can we defend what we value most? How can be safeguard what’s rightfully ours? How can we hold our ground?
And that’s what Chiron in Taurus will be all about from June 19th and especially from April 2027. It will poke the “I HAVE” wound. Not in some petty sense. But in the deepest sense of ownership: bodily autonomy; the right to property; collective ownership (and therefore duty of care) of the earth; respect for our talents and resources, sovereign ownership of our very life!
To have is to value. To own is to have a duty of care. To bring into our energy field is to protect, safeguard and sustain for the future.
It is time to recognise our very physicality as an expression of the divine. Time to draw a “don’t mess with what’s mine” line in the sand!
Chiron in Aries is not yet finished. Chiron returns to Aries September 18th 2026 - April 14th 2027 to make sure we can stand strong in our truth.
But come June 19th, we will get a taster of what this strength is needed for - and of the lessons about what it means to be human that we are called to integrate between April 2027 until October 2033.
Summer Solstice: June 21st: Draw Life from the Sun
This year's Norhtern Summer Solstice arrives on June 21st at 09:24 BST. That's when the Sun enters Cancer. Happy Birthday Cancer!
Time to draw our nourishment from the Sun and celebrate life.
This year, the Sun sextiles Chiron newly in Taurus and this is an opportunity to draw the sun's vital energy deep into the body to heal material wounds.
With a first quarter Moon in Libra too, we are called to meet others half way, respond to challenges and restore balance in all our relationships and interactions. This is a call to action.
Planets at Critical Degrees…: A Manic 'Last Chance' Feeling...
Chiron spends much of June in the crisis-ridden, manic, so called “anoretic" degree of Aries. This is the final Aries degree, where he has been since May 27th and will stay all the way to June 19th.
Keeping Chiron company, Jupiter also spends some quality time in the final, crisis-ridden and anaretic degree of Cancer (from June 26th), as he prepares to change signs into Leo on June 30th.
As planets and points bump up against this Jupiter-Chiron energy, we will feel: look out for some manic moments this month!
The first such event arrives June 1st with Mercury sextile Chiron frying the nervous system and accentuating the need for healing and more authentic interaction.
On June 13th, we have a sentimental Venus square Chiron, creating separation anxiety and heightening past hurts. It's key to stay true to ourselves and our values now.
The Moon itself also connects with Chiron for some soft reminders of this energy, especially on the 2nd, 4th, 7th, 11th, 15th, 17th and 19th, also opposing Chiron newly in Taurus on the 24th for a taster of the fresh energies coming through.
At month's end, it’s Mars’ turn to generate a manic, urgent desire for action - again, a manic 'this is your only chance' kind of energy.
On June 28th Mars he sextiles Jupiter at the dregs of Cancer and we may feel an urgency to accomplish as much as possible in a very short time.
Indeed, those days of June 28th, 29th and 30th are very intense. Not only do we have Mars-Jupiter in a rush, we’ve also got Mercury stationing retrograde in Cancer and a Capricorn Full Moon, all within a hair’s breadth of Jupiter’s entry into Leo. So let’s look now at the all important end of June.
Mercury Retrograde in Cancer June 29th - July 23rd: Reframe the Past
June also sees Mercury station retrograde - even though we will experience most of the retrograde in July. On June 29th Mercury goes retrograde in Cancer at 17:35 UT to stay so until July 23rd (22:57 UT).
Mercury’s retrograde covers the latter half of Cancer 16-27 degrees. If you have any planets or points there (and, less so, 16-27 of any cardinal sign) it’s time for a meaningful review.
Mercury retrograde in Cancer is a chance to digest and reframe material causing 'acid reflux'.
This is a good time to walk down memory lane and clear up old hurts, reframe bothersome memories, or process thoughts and feelings that accumulated undigested during the mad race of normal life.
The mind is also ready to review notions of home and family, upbringing and lineage, land, country and ancestry, as well as nourishment, sustenance and self-care, as well as our spiritual connection to source.
Mercury Cancer has a fertile imagination, a love of archival history, and the capacity to uncover and articulate buried treasure. This is a good time to process the rich material that may be coming up, in whatever form.
Watch out especially for Mercury’s station, i.e. June 29th. For that’s when the tension is heightened.
This could be a poignant moment as Mercury stands still in emotional Cancer, near where Jupiter and Venus have just left their mark. We are back with that theme of psychological recalibration here. (This theme colours much of 2026 as Mercury retrogrades in water signs.) Mercury’s stations can create havoc so leave plenty of time to get places, double check communications etc.
Bear in mind that Mercury enters his shadow period on June 13th, which is when we begin to feel full, unable to receive more incoming. It is important now to slow down, complete what was started, and digest what’s already in our belly.
Take the next two weeks to tidy up loose ends, process recent events, and carry out some much needed maintenance.
June 13th-29th may well see ideas and conversations take hold that will preoccupy us all the way into August, which is when Mercury finally moves on from Cancer into Leo. Any new ideas and ventures that land on your table mid to end June will need revisiting at the end of July, once Mercury straightens his course.
Capricorn Full Moon June 30th: Our Spiritual-Structural Core
June 29th-30th brings us this month’s Capricorn Full Moon, taking place at 23:56 UT at the 9th Capricorn degree. This is a micro moon, clear and crisp, near the Moon’s apogee (i.e. its furthest point from the earth). It is square to Saturn and Neptune and widely trine Chiron freshly in Taurus.
Capricorn is a worldly sign. It is about the structures that hold our life together. It is also about our desire to build something and be recognised for it, to stand tall and achieve personal mastery.
Whatever we wish to build now or however we need to restructure our life, it’s time to put in the work and make the sacrifices required to get there. Commitment is now required to realise a dream or manifest spirit into matter.
There may be a nascent awareness of wounds coming to the surface now around our material safety and sustenance, informing the structures we put in place.
This is a sombre, serious moment by all accounts, with a strong spiritual core.
It is also a time when projects initiated last January now culminate and revealing their nature.
Capricorn Full Moon Sabian Symbol: An angel carrying a harp.
This is an unequivocally etherial symbol for such an earthy lunation. We clearly see that the seen and unseen are a continuum. All we need to do is attune to its reality and pluck the right chord so we can vibrate in tandem.
Jupiter enters Leo June 30th: Showtime!
Chiron isn’t the only planet to change signs this June. On June 30th, after a year in Cancer, Jupiter enters Leo on June 30th at 05:52 UT to stay there until 26 July 2027. Lights, camera, action! It's showtime.
Jupiter in Leo is grand, dramatic and authoritative. Egos grow bigger, pride rules, and we might see dramatic clashes of such egos, alongside the arrogance, tantrums and general theatrics you’d expect from big kids on a playground.
Jupiter in Leo’s vision is BIG. It has a grand vision and needs the space to shine and be applauded for its performance.
This can be a hugely creative time on a personal level (especially wherever you have Leo in your chart), - a time to really have fun boldly pursuing your vision for the future.
Jupiter in Leo is also time to nurture your vision as a steady flame in your heart.
In usual Jupiter fashion, this can also be a time where whatever planet or point falls in Leo in your chart runs away with the rest of you! Jupiter doesn't like to be limited or pinned down.
Jupiter’s entry into Leo won’t be smooth. As soon as Jupiter enters Leo it immediately squares Chiron in Taurus (July 1st) and opposes Pluto in Aquarius (July 22nd).
The grand vision of Jupiter in Leo clashes with wounds around a lack of resources, proper values or self worth and a fear for one's safety. That's Chiron. Add to that Pluto in Aquarius, and Jupiter's grand vision meets an inimical opposing force that refuses to back down.
That could be a signature for blunders and power clashes. The dangers here are overconfidence, hubris or biting more than we can chew. So things could get a little precarious in July... But that too shall pass... It’s all a bit of a game of showmanship. It’s all theatre. So let's watch the play and see what we can learn.
We will feel these energies intensify as we go into July, peak by the 22nd and subside a little after that, paving the way for the eery time of the August eclipses. This is going to be a hot summer!
Jupiter squares Chiron: Big Healing Vibes in June
Jupiter, still in Cancer, and Chiron, still in Aries, are in constant approaching square in June - a square which becomes perfect on July 1st, after both planets have changed signs.
This makes the whole of June a time when our biggest wounds feel exposed, a time of raw emotion floating about, generating the potential for vast powerful healing.
This is BIG energy. And it’s far too close to the surface, revealing and painfully transforming past wounds and undigested material (Cancer) into a steady flame burning in the heart (Leo).
This rise in authenticity eventually gives rise to a bolder more honest vision for the future as we head into July and beyond.
July Onwards Fixed Signs Emphasis: Things Get Entrenched
The end of June also sees of energy from cardinal signs to fixed signs.
We will see many matters becoming entrenched and intractable as we head into July, with potentially explosive moments but with neither side backing down.
With the eclipses also moving into fixed signs from August onwards we are moving into a time of big personality clashes.
