July Astrology 2026: Human Shift Point

July marks a major shift point. We have a sequence of activations that bridge the old world and the new, awakening us to a more authentic way of living.

One reason we are on fire is a powerful configuration in the skies that is gentle yet rare (the last one going as far back as the renaissance). That's a so called “Mini Grand Trine” between the three outermost planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. All aspects are in the waxing phase of their cycles, indicating growth and the first stirrings of a greater consciousness.

This essentially signals a new kind of renaissance for humanity - a profound shift in consciousness that began in 2025, intensifies this year, especially in July and continues to unfold all the way to 2029.

Starting as soon as July 4th, Mars, Jupiter and the Sun activate this renaissance sequence in quick succession: Mars initiates, Jupiter expands, and finally the Sun and Moon illuminate at the majestic Aquarius Full Moon!

We're all in eclipse season already and the energy is accelerating wildly. Change is the only certainty. Mercury joins the story in August, translating this powerful sequence into bite sized chunks. Just in time for the August eclipses.

All this while we have Chiron newly in Taurus since June 19th in the background, allowing more light to penetrate flesh and presenting us with a whole new way of being embodied.

This month Neptune retrograde on the 7th and Saturn Retrograde on the 26th (and later Chiron on August 3rd) invite us inward.

Rather than seeking answers outside ourselves, we are called to look within and begin integrating everything that has unfolded during the first half of 2026. 

With Jupiter, Chiron, Venus and the Lunar Nodes connecting at 0 degrees of their signs too, the unfamiliar is calling us forward. It's time for a new beginning. Watch out for July 10th, when Venus, Chiron and the Lunar Nodes connect, inviting us to awaken and embody our  values.

July's Sabian Symbols echo this incredible unfolding story. We literally have the symbol of an egg waiting to hatch. Our spirit is yearning for something beyond what we have known all our lives, all the while questioning society’s definitions of success and fulfilment.

A new world is being born; a new human is emerging.

The familiar is giving way to the unknown, and next month’s eclipses will clear away the debris and open that doorway wider.

With Mercury still retrograde for most of July (until the 23rd!) it is very important that we take the time to carry out an internal recce - especially of our emotional thoughts and habits - so we can take all of ourselves on this journey.

Aim for a definitive fresh start at the innermost parts of your being, where new realities are born. The time to do this is the Cancer New Moon and Cancer New Mercury combo arriving mid-July (13th-14th).

By month’s end, the North Node enters Aquarius and the South Node enters Leo, marking a profound collective turning point. Humanity begins shifting away from self-serving agendas and celebrity worship, and toward greater cooperation, innovation and galactic consciousness.

The future asks each of us to examine the contents of our hearts (Leo) and then, from that point, make our unique contribution to the collective (Aquarius).

Leo deserves a special mention this month.

Leo season enters with a bang on the 22nd, as Leo is now hosting Jupiter and soon the South Node. This is going to be a big year ahead of karmic rewards, expansion and awareness for Leo (and wherever we each have Leo in our chart).

All this even as we enter unknown territory wherever we have Aquarius in the chart.

July Astrology Week One (1–5 July):  Initiation Sequence

The month opens with immediate evolutionary pressure.

On 1 July, Jupiter newly in Leo squares Chiron newly in Taurus impressing upon us a whole new set of evolutionary lessons. All this while Mercury squares Eris.

Right from the get go, July stirs old wounds, exposing uncomfortable truths and bringing opportunities for profound growth.

What initially feels challenging is actually revealing where greater authenticity is ready to emerge. Mental discomfort becomes a doorway into deeper wisdom.

Everything accelerates on 4 July as Mars conjuncts Uranus. Sudden developments, unexpected breakthroughs and rapid changes can feel exhilarating—or destabilising.

An experimental and flexible spirit of discovery is now our greatest strength.

The momentum continues on 5 July when Mars sextiles Neptune and trines Pluto, activating the renaissance dynamic 2025-2029 - or what may be described as the Human 2.0 sequence.

Inspiration meets determination, allowing visionary ideas to become tangible action. Projects aligned with our highest purpose now receive extraordinary support.

Theme of the week: Initiation. Life begins rearranging itself to support a more authentic future.

July Astrology Week Two (6–12 July): Embodying the New Self

This week marks the first major inward turn.

By Monday 6 July, it's time to check in with our inner authority and do the right thing. The Sun squares Saturn (while Venus trines Eris) encouraging a pause for reflection. Ask yourself: do my actions truly align with my purpose?

Stamina, discipline and long term planning now become more important than speed.

Neptune stations retrograde on 7 July, accompanied by a Last Quarter Moon in Aries.

This is a poignant moment of great emotional release and galvanising realisations.

Neptune retrograde highlights dreams, disappointments, longings, nostalgia and sadness for what could have been, as well as vague aspirations for the future. This is a spiritual high. Illusions now begin to dissolve as your inner vision begins to clarify. The waning quarter Moon also necessitates some urgent reflection.

On 9 July, Venus enters Virgo to stay there until August 6th. No more proud declarations of love. Actions now speak louder than words. Time to show your appreciation through small yet meaningful acts. This is a good time to establish healthier routines, enjoy organising your world and bring greater devotion to wellbeing.

A particularly significant moment arrives on 10 July as Venus trines Chiron and conjuncts the South Node at the critical 0° Virgo. This is an anchoring moment. Relationships, finances and personal values get a moment of 'karmic' closure now

Old stories are complete. Things set into motion long ago can come full circle making room for a more authentic expression of love.

Theme of the week: This is a week to feel, heal and begin embodying a new heartfelt reality.

July Astrology Week Three (13–19 July): Seeding the Future

This week we have an important New Moon in Cancer conjunct Mercury Retrograde.

Astronomically, it is an alignment of the Earth on one end and the Sun on the other, with the Moon and Mercury sandwiched in the middle.

This is essentially a Cancer New Moon and New Mercury rolled into one.

And so this week constitutes a crucial reset at the innermost part of our being, where entire Universes are born.

This reset happens in Cancer - the ultimate sign of emotional inner truth, birth, creativity, and, ultimately, our spiritual roots.

And all this, just in time for these renaissance energies of the new Human and new World to begin coming in.

On 13 July it's time to press the brain-reset button with the Mercury Sun Inferior Conjunction at 20°42' Cancer at 01:25 UT/GMT. This is essentially a New Mercury.

Also on the 13th Venus squares Uranus bringing sudden market turns and romantic encounters.

Entirely new perspectives now begin emerging.

With Mercury still retrograde, ideas remain in their early experimental stages. Time to brainstorm!

A period of hindsight and processing the past is now over. Time to begin looking ahead and trying out new things!  Sudden developments in relationships or finances also encourage greater flexibility right now.

Put out feelers and test the Beta version of whatever is in the works. A highly creative time begins!

New Mercury in Cancer Sabian Symbol, Cancer 21°: A famous singer is proving her virtuosity during an operatic performance. This is a symbol of cultural excellence - and it is also a chance to meditate on what true success means, what it demands and what it delivers.

On the next day, 14 July , we have a Cancer New Moon at 09:43 UT/GMT at 22° Cancer, conjunct that brand new Mercury!

This is the start of a truly fertile and receptive period.

Time to invest emotionally in what truly matters. Rather than forcing outcomes, it's time to trust in our intuition, think something through, and open up to the unknown, quietly planting intentions that we wish to tend to through the coming eclipse season and beyond.

This New Moon also sits on the Saturn/Chiron midpoint.

The Cancer New Moon highlights a major fault line in our defences - the hole in the armour that finally allows the light to penetrate!

Now is a good time to connect with that deeply felt reality, build a bridge from past to future, and restructure the inner and outer world to allow for greater truth and authenticity.

Saturn-Chiron contacts also appear to connect us to what is beyong the known bounds of our world. They have often been present around breakthroughs to do with space.

This Cancer New Moon / New Mercury combo seeds a new understanding of what it means to be human. It is an intelligent fresh start.

This is an important moment.

Uranus sextiles Neptune on July 15 and opportunities for innovation merge with spiritual vision, inviting entirely new possibilities to emerge.

Transformation is well underway by 18 July as Uranus trines Pluto while the Sun squares Eris.

External and internal awakenings combine, breaking apart outdated frameworks, and encouraging profound personal and collective evolution.

Just then we have a Mars-Saturn sextile on 19 July - a stable window for grounded, strategic action. 

The electrifying initiations of early July now become actionable, sustainable, implemented. This is an important time to set things in motion.

Theme of the week: A moment of clarity allows us to plant seeds for a new future.

July Astrology Week Four (20–26 July): The Rapids of Change

The currents of change intensify immensely during this penultimate July week with the 20th and 21st introducing BIG VAST transformative, inspirational, revolutionary energy!

On 20 July Jupiter trines Neptune and opposes Pluto, finally sextile Uranus on 21 July.

The river of change is now flowing forcefully: Radical transformation and innovation meet evolutionary pressure, catalysing profound change.

At the same time, a First Quarter Moon in Libra encourages decisive, bridge-building and diplomatic action.

Fortune now favours the brave! Opportunities appear unexpectedly, rewarding a willingness to take charge and to change, even amidst the greatest uncertainty. 

Mercury is still retrograde of course and in its most unstable phase, as he is about to turn direct on the 23rd. These days are going to be a great rollercoaster!

And all this, just as we are about to welcome Leo season, on 22 July when the Sun enters Leo. Happy birthday Leo!

Time for us all to bask in the life-giving light of the Sun.

On the same day, Eris turns retrograde, forcing us to own our gripes and resentments and seek their true source. The Leo Sun immediately squares Chiron in Taurus on 23 July impressing upon us a new reality.

It's important now to examine our inner landscape for any major integrity fault-lines.

The 23rd is a raw and intense day...

Also on 23 July Mercury turns direct at 22:57 UT/GMT at 16°18'Cancer. 

Nerves are now frazzled and emotions high, but at least now information begins to emerge. 

Ideas begin coming into fuller view now that Mercury resumes direct motion.

Do give Mercury a few days to straighten his course before you jump in with both feet.

Mercury stationing direct is notorious for errors and mistakes out of haste. You will see a clearer picture over the next few days.

The good news? Mercury sextiles Venus as he turns on 24 July creating a beautiful bridge for connection, art, poetry, and civilised conversation.

Mercury will be back to full speed by early August.

By 25 July, Neptune sextiles Pluto plucking some deep hypnotic chords in this long-term transformation of our species. Quiet changes beneath the surface are now reshaping individual and collective consciousness.

Finally, on July 26 Saturn stations retrograde. A heaviness now fills the world - it's the weight of responsibility.  Time to review commitments, obligations and long-term ambitions.

Time to align our inner and outer structures with the courage needed to give form to something new.

Theme of the week:  Vast changes now begin to move through us. Take stock and build for the long term.

July Astrology Week Five (27 July - 2 August): Humanity’s Shift Point

The final week of July delivers the culmination of everything initiated earlier in the month.

A major karmic turning point arrives on 27 July 2026 as the Lunar Nodes shift into Aquarius and Leo to stay there until 26 March 2028.

The invitation is now clear: move beyond self and discover your place within humanity’s shared future.

That same day, 27 July, the Sun opposes Pluto, trines Neptune and sextiles Uranus, illuminating the profound personal and collective transformation now taking place. This is a breakthrough in awareness.

With the South Node in Leo and the North Node in Aquarius, this time calls for a collective effort and for a budding sense of brotherhood / sisterhood to repair the damage caused by autocratic systems and excessive pride.

Collective ideals and paradigm shifts now take priority over pond life celebrity culture and childish tantrums.

Time for us all to step into a bigger playing field and realise we are not alone. We are unique parts of a greater whole.

The next 18 months will be a time of great technological innovation, major revelations, and space awareness - a greater galactic consciousness is now emerging.

It is important to truly connect with our hearts as we make this shift, raising our eyes to the cosmos. For this is what anchors our uniqueness.

The last time the Lunar Nodes were in this position was 2007-09 (and prior to that, 1989-90, 1970-72, 1952-53, 1933-35 and 1914-16 and so on every 18.5 years or so).

But this is the first time in centuries that they will meet with Pluto in Aquarius, let alone that magical renaissance configuration in the skies. It’s still all to come!

Everything culminates at the Aquarius Full Moon on 29 July at 6°30' Aquarius at 14:35 UT / GMT.

29 July is also when the Sun conjuncts newly minted Jupiter in Leo even as the Full Moon in Aquarius aligns with Pluto, opposing Jupiter.

At the same time Venus in Virgo squares Mars in Gemini, generating extra heat, passion and conviction. This is a high voltage energy boost for our nervous system

New possibilities now become visible. Greater purpose emerges, as does the passion to pursue it.

What began as liminal shifts and sudden surprises at the beginning of July now reaches culmination in full glory, seeding a new 12-month long cycle of growth.

The Mini Grand Trine that signals humanity's renaissance and the emergence of "Human 2.0" is now fully activated, amplifying collective awakening, change and transformation.
